Drink of the Week: FEW Spirits Smashing Pumpkins Bourbon

When you think about what the Smashing Pumpkins and Chicago meant to each other in the ‘90s, there was so much rage, angst, passion, love, adoration, and so much more. One of the biggest bands in the world hailed from the Windy City and we loved that they were ours. No matter where they toured — Europe, Japan, South America — they always came home.
So it makes sense that the award-winning FEW Spirits, the first distillery in Evanston, a town just north of Chicago, would collaborate with lead singer Billy Corgan on a bourbon. The two have always been rebellious, driving, successful, beloved, and maybe even controversial. FEW came to life in a town that was once the headquarters for the temperance movement (its name pays homage to temperance leader Frances E. Willard, who lived in Evanston). The Smashing Pumpkins’ seething, driving sound propelled a generation.
